BEAUTY: Get Your Glow On

Now that summer has arrived, most of us are craving the perfect bronzed glow.  Since too much sun exposure is a big no-no (premature aging? No thank you), finding a way to nail the sun-kissed look without damaging our skin is so important.

Start off by finding a golden-hued bronzer that matches with your complexion. We suggest going about 2-3 shades darker than your skin tone – try not to go any darker or you’ll end up with a look that’s way more Snooki than Gisele.  Bronzers with a little bit of shimmer in them can add a bit of highlighting to your features but can also magnify blemishes and imperfections, so if you prefer something that’s a little bit less revealing I suggest going with a matte version . Use a round face brush to apply the bronzer to the points of your face where the sun would hit the most – your forehead, chin, nose and the tops of your cheeks.  Want a simple tip for applying it to the right areas? Think of it like you’re tracing a number three on both sides of your face.  Start on your forehead, sweep down around the eye to your cheeks (right under your cheekbone), then follow the flow around to your chin, using a circular motion for even application. Once you’ve finished with the bronzer, apply blush to the apples of your cheeks for a little bit of a flush. Try adding a swipe of a bronze waterproof eyeshadow or liner to your lids to warm up your eyes and finish off this Cali-girl look.

If you want to add more effortless colour to your face, try including a self-tanner designed for the face in your beauty routine. It will gradually develop into a nice, natural looking tan.
