TRIED, TESTED AND TRUE: Shaving Rebuilt? Gillette Thinks So…

Just when you thought that your vibrating, 10,000 blade, Transformers razor couldn’t get anymore high-tech, Gillette has gone and done ‘er again.

Yes. That’s right, Gillette has re-invented the proverbial wheel of shaving — err, perhaps not so proverbial. The iconic razor company just launched the new FUSION PROGLIDE WITH FLEXBALL™ TECHNOLOGY.

Basically, imagine that Gillette and Dyson got together on a hot summer night, had a few too many wobbly pops and perhaps made a few bad judgement calls and, well, 9 months later, out pops a razor with roller ball technology, proven to snag every single little hair on your face.

Gillette Fusion ProGlide with FlexBall Technology

So what’s the big fuss? The new Fusion ProGlide with FlexBall™ Technology is making its debut as the handle that moves, adjusts and pivots to meet a man’s face. It will change the face of shaving by allowing each cartridge to ride the facial contours for more constant contact than any Fusion before it to help get virtually every hair – a top shaving need cited by 8 out of 10 men.

Yeah, ballin’. (See what we did there?)

OK, let’s get back to it. This week Gillette sent us down to New York City to observe the official unveiling of this remarkable technology (no, I’m not kissing ass here. I did try it — albeit on my legs…which, in all fairness, love some special technological TLC, too!)

Not only did we manage to snag a few razors (yes, we’ll be doing a give-away online soon!) but they also entertained us with some bumpin’ beats courtesy of Phantogram the Brooklyn-based indie band who performed “When I’m Small” (you know, that catchy-ass tune in the current Gillette commercials…)

As if that weren’t enough to blow out socks off actor Omar Epps stopped by to give a live demo of the new technology — and managed to not cut himself in front of the live audience. (That’s talent right there!)

To celebrate the launch of the Fusion ProGlide with FlexBall Technology, Gillette will also be sharing some famous shave faces that will serve as a tribute to the need for maneuverability. Over the next six weeks, fans can follow Gillette on Twitter at www.twitter.com/Gillette and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/Gillette to guess some famous figures who will be revealing their shave face. Tennis fans were in for a treat today, as Gillette ambassador Roger Federer opened serve with his shave face. More will follow as Gillette hands each new player the new handle with technology that adjusts to meet his face.

Now, you’re probably thinking to yourself, “Man this sounds pretty sweet — I betcha they’re gonna charge and arm and a leg.” WELP, my friend, you’re wrong. Whomever thought up this GENIUS idea had their thinking cap on one day, because this new piece of bathroom hardware is only a new handle — re: you don’t need to buy new Gillette Cartridges, because they work with the current FUSION Proglide ones on the market RIGHT. FRICKIN’. NOW!

Fusion ProGlide with FlexBall Technology will be bundled with Gillette Fusion ProGlide Sensitive Shave Gel in a limited edition preview pack that will be available in select stores across Canada on June 2nd, just in time for Father’s Day. The product will be available in a broad range of traditional and online retail outlets across North America starting June 9th. Gillette Fusion ProGlide with FlexBall Technology and the limited edition preview pack will retail in Canada for the suggested retail price range of $13.99 – $19.99.

BAM.

BALLIN’.
